ROBYN HAUGHTON

I completed a Fine Art Degreee in 1992 majoring in Painting and Printmaking.

My current work is inspired by things that I am drawn to in the landscape around me, be it the morning light through the trees or a sunrise over the ocean.  I aim to create that feeling of excitement I get when I'm out in nature and see these beautiful things.

I often use photos as a reference point to construct my paintings.  I use more than one photo of the same scene and take bits of each of them to highlight the different element that I am interested in.

i have a strong sense of colour and use this, along with light and pattern, to make certain things stand out to strengthen my compositions.  Overall I am aiming to recreate in my artwork that feeling that I was drawn to by the landscape around me.
