Papa Wren and Chicks

LUCINDA COTTER

My work draws inspiration from nature and family, especially the birds, animals and plants of the Australian bush. I especially love to find and accentuate the personalities of my subjects.

My work draws inspiration from the birds, plants and landscapes of the beautiful country on which I live. In particular, I am endlessly fascinated by the birds of Central Victoria and the Macedon Ranges. I work primarily in acrylics on canvas, painting my favourite subjects of magpies, fairy wrens, native bees, and flowers, but I am also always learning and experimenting, trying new mediums, techniques and subjects to grow my practice and improve my art.

I love the supportive community of the Drying Shed Art Space, the chance to talk to other artists, and to share my work with the people who visit the studio.
